Oxford Casino Surpasses Fundraising Goal

Oxford Casino Surpasses United Way of Oxford County Fundraising Goal for the Third Consecutive Year
OXFORD, Maine (September 23, 2015) The end of summer means it’s time for the United Way of Oxford County to kick off their Annual Campaign Drive to raise critical funds for programs focused on educational achievement, long-term financial stability and improved health for the community. The campaign also assists in leveraging funds through volunteer opportunities, other grant funding and through initiatives including the Backpack Project and the Food Pantry Project. When donors give funds to the United Way, they’re investing their dollars in programs that impact all of Oxford County.

This year’s campaign kickoff took place at Oxford Casino on August 19th and 20th, 2015 and the casino team surpassed their goal for the third year in a row. The $25,000 goal resulted in $31,000 being raised in salary contributions alone. Jack Sours, General Manager and Vice President of Oxford Casino and Chairman of the Board of the United Way of Oxford County commended the Oxford Team for rising to the occasion to assist the community, “Congratulations to everyone for once again exceeding our goal. It’s GREAT that our Oxford Casino team is so committed to giving back to the community that we work and live in.”

Additionally, on Monday, August 31, 2015 the casino team held an invitational golf tournament at Poland Spring to raise an additional $3,200 in funds for United Way of Oxford County, bringing the total garnered to just over $34,200.
