Wicked Good Jobs for THREE YEARS!
Start a New Career with Oxford Casino Hotel
OXFORD, Maine (May 20, 2015) – On June 6, 2012, Oxford Casino opened its doors for its first day of business, introducing an enthusiastic, brand-new workforce to the public. In March, 2013, Oxford Casino was acquired by Churchill Downs, Incorporated (CDI).
Three years after opening, Oxford Casino is still an employer of choice in Oxford County, steadily keeping an average of 400 people employed. Lack of past casino experience isn’t a hindrance at Oxford Casino, as they continue to actively recruit and train new hires.
Many front line workers who helped open the casino in 2012 have already been promoted to management within the organization, proving true the old adage, “it pays to get your foot in the door.” Jack Sours, Vice President and General Manager, is quick to say, “We always try to promote from within. When a job opens, it’s posted for our team first. We have great people working for us, and we’re pleased to provide them with that benefit.”
Speaking of “benefits,” the casino offers its full time team members a comprehensive array of benefits including medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, an employee assistance program, a health advocate and several other voluntary benefits team members can elect to participate in.
Oxford Casino’s 401(k) retirement plan offers a generous, company match and eligible employees are also given the opportunity to participate in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Stock in CDI (NASDAQ symbol CHDN) is offered at a discount to team members, and the value of CDI shares has doubled over the last three years, providing Oxford Casino team members who choose to take advantage of the Employee Stock Purchase Plan a noteworthy dividend.
CDI ALSO RANKED #67 ON Forbes 100 Best Small Companies in America list for 2014. Bill Carstanjen, CEO of CDI said, “We have worked to ensure (CDI’s) long-term success and heritage while building a solid foundation for future areas of investment and growth.”
Oxford Casino opened in June 2012, and underwent two expansions, one in October 2012, and another in December 2013. The hilltop Casino is located on 100 acres, 40 minutes northwest of Portland in Maine’s lakes and mountains region.
