Oxford Casino to Expand
Oxford Casino to Expand – APRIL 27, 2012 – OXFORD, ME – The Oxford Casino announced today that it plans to expand its gaming area by 50% shortly after opening to accommodate hundreds of new slot machines and additional table games. This increase is already permitted and will help establish the Oxford Casino as the premier entertainment destination in western Maine.
The Oxford Casino’s gaming license application was approved by the Maine Gambling Control Board last week. Construction of the initial facility on Route 26 in Oxford – just 45 minutes from downtown Portland – is nearing completion, and staff is currently training in anticipation of an early-summer grand opening.
“We’re confident that the Oxford Casino will be received by Mainers and tourists as a fun and exciting gaming destination,” says Jack Sours, vice president and general manager. “We’re committed to growing the business and providing customers with the best possible experience.”
When the Oxford Casino initially opens, it will house hundreds of state-of-the-art slot machines and a dozen tables. The facility will also feature a world-class restaurant, Seasons Grill. Operations will continue uninterrupted as the expansion takes place.
Cianbro, the Maine-based company that is currently building the Oxford Casino, will construct this expansion.
